The dinner table is something very special to us. It’s where memories begin, stories are exchanged, and most importantly, the dinner table wouldn’t be the same without the comfort of a fresh, homemade meal.

Joseph’s Pizza is family owned and we’ve shared our dinner table with Jacksonville since 1956. When you walk through our doors, you’ll find a lively neighborhood institution (loud chatter and laughter is encouraged!), and as the oldest pizzeria in Jacksonville, we’ve hosted some of the most important meals our neighbors have shared.

Joseph’s takes pride in filling bellies with large portions of scratch-made, full-flavored Italian American food. We want you to focus on making memories, we’ll take care of the rest.

Who’s Joseph?

Joseph’s legacy began in the Italian kitchens of the San Francisco neighborhood where he grew up. He found the aromas of fresh homemade breads, sauces and meats so irresistible, he dedicated his life to the rich heritage of Italian-inspired cooking. Upon purchasing and expanding the restaurant and menu, Joseph focused on keeping the fresh, homemade, old-school approach to cooking alive. He never gave into temptation to make anything easier. Upon purchasing the restaurant, Joseph would make the fresh bread and dough each night until coaching and working alongside our current bread maker who has been with our family for over 30 years. 

All his life, Joseph’s heart was in two places, the kitchen and the dinner table. His greatest thrill was watching the smiling faces of people enjoying the flavor of his hard work. He used to say, “Cooking is something special when it’s in your soul. Otherwise, there’s an ingredient missing.”

Today Joseph’s passion for full- flavored Italian cuisine lives on in every item on our menu. As you indulge in recipes perfected by his hand, know its Joseph’s own wife, Mama Rose, daughters, and grandchildren who bring these dishes to you at both of our Jacksonville locations. 

If you happen to catch Mama Rose at one of the restaurants, you’re in luck. Mama Rose has overseen the transition of Joseph’s over the past 50 years and has a magical way of making everyone feel like family. She shares amazing stories with us about the history of the Main Street location and creation of Joseph’s favorite menu items.
